Details TK
Just another ink-stained wretch making the leap into the internets.
Jumping on the bandwagon
In journalism, the term “TK” means “to come” (why we use a K instead of a C, I’ll never know). The TK refers to anything that is unknown — facts and details that need to be filled in, quotes that need to be added, what have you. I’ve become so enamored of this phrase that I, journalism nerd that I am, have taken it up in my everyday language: “Happy hour tonight at TK bar at TK time! Details TK!” Or, say, when a friend asks, “So, what’s the deal with you and [guy of the moment]?” I’ve been known to reply, “Eh, we’re a TK.” I’m no drama queen, but I’ve even taken it to existentialist extremes: “My life is one big, fat TK!” So, in the spirit of keeping things consistent, I’d like to refer to this blog as a TK. It is an experiment. I don’t yet know what it’ll be about, but in the words of one of my favorite blogs, Jezebel, it’ll ”attempt to take all the essentially meaningless but sweet stuff directed our way and give it a little more meaning, while taking more the serious stuff and making it more fun, or more personal, or at the very least the subject of our highly sophisticated brand of sex joke.”
